Auto-transcript. Expect misheard words.
Okay, I'd like to now turn, um, our first Hung award. And, um, I think that for those of you that have been a part of this community for a while, um, you know that a really critical part of what we try to do with the Corona Foundation is foster collaboration. Among researchers and clinicians, there's a number of problems that can only be solved when we bring together right minded different fields from different institutions to have complementary data sets or complementary technologies or complementary expertise, et cetera. And so this complement collaboration is a big mind is research workshops, and the big part is where the office is for information. And it's really important. Things to recognize when we see uncommon examples of collaboration. So actually, we wanted to do two uncommon words tonight, um, because there were, um, and as you say, we see on display at research workout quite a number of examples of customer collaborations, um, but a couple really stand out. And so, um, I'm going to, uh, um, share the story and present, uh, The first uncommon award goes to a researcher and clinician who's now a very, very long way to be here, all the way from Beijing, Dr. GY, who, um, we had the pleasure of meeting back in 2016 when Dr. Bai first came to Air International Verona Research Workshop, all the way from China. And I remember Dr. Bai when we first met, um, as I kind of want to do, and I beat a new surgeon or a new association, uh, was my first question. Is that how many corona patients do you treat your UC? Um, and Dr. Bai's answer, I believe, was something like More than a hundred a year. And I think my, I think I just dulled it because I cannot believe that. Because in the United States, there are 300 new Orama cases per year. That is stall based mobile fine in lake on. So it's by 500 base surgeon. And at this hospital, in a single hospital, we see a hundred skull-based cases a year, which is just Uh, a foundation in maybe more than anywhere else in the world. Uh, I don't know if you have a way of, of, uh, verifying fact setting. Uh, but I think it says absolutely extraordinary, uh, official volume. Um, and the level of, um, practice that, uh, that enables is extraordinary. But it's not completely volume that we're here to celebrate. It's, um, what Dr. Bay has done, um, with the expertise and with the incredible case series and the incredible collection samples that he has mapped over the last dozen years or more. So I think sort of after joining the Earth Research Conference, Dr. Bay connected, um, With a team of investigators at the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Rose, and I believe Dillis Perry, was still there at the time, and at least the Gold team. And as those research work will have heard about the results of their productive collaboration, they've gone on now over the last decade plus a number of really phenomenal papers that we talk about at length of the research. I think three, four five of pretty significant non-to-based economics. But that is just one example of the kind of collaboration that, um, I think certified and, uh, embodies. Um, I counted in, I don't know that I have the number right, but in the literature, uh, from from your previous comments, from, by the way, a reading of topics from, uh, biology and genomics. To immunology, to imaging, to patient outcomes with quality of life, truly a restless topic. And Dr. Bise collaborated with well over half dozen different institutions from all over China. Most recently, last year, we, um, had the opportunity to, um, support Dr. Bye in organizing a very successful Congress or a meeting of the kind of neurosurgeon society meetings where Dr. Bay brought together very successful neurosurgeon radiation oncologists medical et cetera including some came over from the United States. So and that wasn't enough. Most recently Dr. Bay came over and shared me as the fruits of his labor Um, so Dr. Bai is organized at a national level in China, um, almost a hundred commissions to develop the first guideline, first national guidelines for the two commission based for Rome in China, all of which Dr. Bai organized obviously a big team out for involved in almost a hundred commissions. But um, this is example after example of Dr. Bai, um, bringing people together. Um, uh, carrying, uh, his expertise and the unique, um, uh, uh, resources he had at this institution. It's incredible case here is with the expertise of so many in China and beyond. And for that, that's why we're so grateful for you. Uh, so grateful for your dedication. You've come to every single one of our months in 2016. Uh, so we're looking forward to, uh, continuing to, uh, deepen our project up in this year. But what more people project? Please join me in giving around this.
