Auto-transcript. Expect misheard words.
Good evening, everyone. Uh, my name is Kenny Rick, and I am the at the end of this year at the Cordova Foundation 2019, and tonight I have an incredible privilege of presenting the Uncommon Champion Award to a man who we ago in discussion, Mr. Mendel, and I want to tell you a little bit about Steve. Steve had a very unique, uh, diagnosis we've been talking about. Steve was diagnosed after getting out of the sacking cab and getting to five costs. And in the aftermath, we obviously get creating our options and everything. That's when they got just for. So we had numerous problems. Uh, but in receiving treatment, he And he made the decision at that point that he had two roles. He wanted to create the probability and create business, and he wanted to raise funds for the probability foundation. And he put those two things together, and he created the team court. And he and his friends raised money while trading for and running in the mining half marathon. And that year they raised fifteen thousand dollars. And then the older spot to get better. And then they did it again next year and raised fifty, five hundred of people to get better. And since that time, Steve Cordoma had snowballed, uh, beyond any of our wild streams. They did not see. And last year, Team Corbellma, last year alone, raised over a hundred thousand dollars and included more than a hundred and seventy-five Corbama community participants, our big year today. And in the lifetime of Team Corbellama, under C leadership, we've raised yearly millions of dollars for Corbell research and preaching services. And, yeah. And as Peter tells you, I think equally importantly, Inquerdoma has become an annual opportunity for community to come together. And there are just numerous instances that come to mind of Cordoma patients who never met another Cordom patient, medium year patient having Team Cordoma event. So it was an incredible opportunity for our communities for a number of reasons. But even beyond Team Cordova, Steve has done and continues to do so much for this community. He's been a board member since 2017. And for much of that time, we share our financing, which imagine is critically important of this formation. And so we are deeply, uh, grateful for everything for us. And I do admit I didn't share one personal anecdote about CED, which I think really passed away to see it, uh, as president. So in Gorama. Usually happens on the East Coast of the country, usually a certain CDK. And C was on the west coast, even San Francisco, which every day will buy in before Courtney, Loting Wi-Fi, will rent a massive SUV, and they incorporate it, they will fill it with everything that 175 people leave through our rate, planet care, t-shirts, mats. Drain, coffee, you name it, within this SUV. And then the daily race, he'll show up hours before the start of this race, and he will unload the entire SUV, set up everything. So it's like a hospitality tent when patients and Corona community members show up. Then he will run the half marathon, usually commit to age groups, then he will finish, cheer on every single participant. Then stay until the last person has left, shaking every hand, making sure everyone has their notebooks. Then people reload set SUV, donate all their dating food, drop off all material, drop off that SUV, and then fly back to San Francisco all in the database. And what does it about these meeting? One, we need by example, all we building. And number two, he cares so deeply about this community. He cares for every patient experiences. He wanted to everyone has a better time. And that is then far beyond C4. We as a community are incredibly lucky to have an uncommon chance to get it. Hi,
